Artist Bio

Fiber artist and Cat Lover

I clearly remember being asked: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I answered: “I want to be an artist!”  Then I was told I had choose a career to “support myself”  and encouraged to earned a few business degrees.  So off I went.  30 years and a business career later,  it dawned on me I was working on the wrong things – this was not even close to fun and fulfilling.  Time to actually be the artist I am.

I’m thankful to be creating.  One of my biggest fans is  Momo. That’s her in the picture.  She brings me joy and many purrs every day.

Yes, I still have chickens....

My father would not allow cats  at our home when I was growing up but he would allow chickens.  They were useful: they produced eggs!   25 odd years later, I built my own chicken coop on our property.  My the current flock consists of a mix of breeds.  Four are layers, two think about laying every now and then, one prima donna and my oldest girl is retired at the age of five years.  We regularly collect blue-green, deep brown, brown and light brown eggs which I share often with friends.

Where you'll find me

When I’m not in my studio, I’m biking  country roads near our home or hiking the Finger Lakes Trail system.  Gardening is also a passion of mine and I regularly yell at the many deer who enjoy my home gardens.  The theme here is nature: I love being outdoors, experiencing nature.  🙂

That is what influences my art and makes me who I am.
